BMI:
Having a healthy BMI is directly correlated to having a higher chance
of
conception.
Being under or overweight can affect your chances of conceiving.
Available data
suggest
for women with a high BMI, by having as little as 5%–10% weight loss
can improve
fertility outcomes.
Activity
Level:
Long hours, sedentary and demanding job activity or even the opposite
where you
have a
sedentary lifestyle where your job is desk bound requiring you to sit
for long
hours,
all these are factors affecting chances of conceiving. For the period
that you are
trying to get pregnant, shorten your working hours and take up lighter
duties
wherever
possible. If your job is sedentary where you spend of your time sitting
down,
stretch
out every 1-2 hours after continuous sitting down. Since work occupies
a big part
of
your day, reflect if it is also the source of your stress.
Exercise:
Exercise is a good way to release your stress, maintain hormonal
balance, maintain
your
weight and for you to keep fit. Regular exercise can also boost your
moods and
sexual
libido. So you may want to be exercising at a rate that is beneficial
for you. If
you
are overweight, you may want to increase your exercise routine until
you reach your
ideal BMI. However, be warned, too much exercise can be detrimental to
your
fertility
health. Check with your doctor or fitness instructor for the best
exercise routine
for
you.
Sleeping
Pattern:
A routine night sleep is important for those trying to get pregnant as
studies has
shown that improving your sleep pattern will directly restore hormonal
balance in
your
body. Try to maintain a regular sleeping pattern, even on weekends, or
if your work
requires you to do shifts, or permanent nights shifts, ask if you could
have a
routine
change for the time you are trying to conceive.
